About the service
Legionella bacteria management is critical to minimise exposure risk to airborne water droplets. Building owners should approach legionella control in compliance with The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974; Section 2 and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 & Controlled of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) 2002.
Regulations require employers to:
- Carry out Legionella risk assessments in line with L8 ACoP and HSG247 guidance
- Make arrangements to implement the necessary Water Hygiene scheme of control
- Carry out mandatory remedial actions and provide an action plan for all recommendations
- Appoint responsible persons, and;
- Arrange for appropriate record-keeping, information sharing and training to be undertaken.
